The Course...
Designed to find you work on qualifying: If you’re thinking of spending your gap year or career break qualifying and working as a ski instructor or a snowboard instructor , the latest Peak Leaders development with European Snowsport, is the perfect instructor course for you. There is the opportunity of part time employment with ES on passing your BASI Level 2 ski instructor qualification. The job opportunity is only available for skiers.

Applicants must be dedicated, intermediate and above skiers and boarders who wish to excel in their chosen sport whilst working and learning in an established snowsports school.
Course outline...
Day one, there will be a welcome talk/overview from your course leader and your instructors followed by a mountain familiarization tour with your trainers. You’ll train to become a BASI Ski or Snowboard Instructor during the the 11 weeks, you’ll get a massive over 200 hours of top class on snow training including 72 hours shadowing along with video feedback sessions, first aid course, avalanche awareness course and off snow fitness training.
As you progress through the course your technique will be refined and you will gain skills in steeps, bumps and off piste. Your all mountain knowledge and people skills will grow and your riding should improve beyond recognition - you'll be tackling terrain you only dreamed of previously.
You’ll also get the expert advice of a Course Leader to help you achieve your agreed goals and you’ll learn about teaching in a real working environment. Along the way, you’ll have time to relax with people who’ll become friends for life.

The BASI Ski or Snowboard Instructor qualification is offered in Verbier. BASI is a dynamic, foreword thinking, members’ association whose Snowsport Qualifications are recognised world-wide. BASI qualifications are amongst the most respected and in-demand qualifications in the world.

Qualifications and Certs...
In Verbier we offer the British Association of Snowsport Association (BASI) qualifications. The qualification is recognized worldwide and is crucial if you want to teach in France later on in your career. BASI level 1 is the introductory level taken early on in the course, with BASI 2 (more advanced) taken towards the end of the course. In 2007 and 2008 we had 100% pass rate for BASI 1 and 2! Other qualifications on offer are the first aid course, avalanche awareness & backcountry Module, ILM Management certificate, SNSC resort guiding award. More details...
The Resort
Swiss Tourism describes Verbier as a true paradise for winter sports fans. It is a world class resort located in the midst of the high Alps with the Mont Blanc Massif barely 20 miles to the west and the Matterhorn 20 miles to the east
From anywhere in Verbier the views are spectacular. It has some of the most challenging runs in Europe with the steeps of Tortin, Gentianes and Mont Fort to test the most experienced skier or rider. The ski area extends between 1500 and 3300 metres above sea level in a spectacular mountain landscape, with summer skiing available on the Tortin glacier. The town is full of Alpine charm and situated at 1500m has enviable snow and sun records.
Accommodation & Food...
*NEW* All our accommodation is now in central Verbier. We have a large apartment situated right beside Place Centrale - there isn't a better location in Verbier! It's next to the shops, bars and you can easily walk to the lift in 5 mins. Our other apartment is a 5 minute walk to Place Centrale and a 5 minute bus to the lift station. There is WIFI access within both apartments. A recent addition to the accommodation is the fabulous Vieux Valais hotel, which was a huge success with trainees this year. All of our accommodation normally includes twin rooms, and shared bathrooms. Breakfast and most evening meals are provided. Lunch is not included.

Après is big in Verbier and no matter where you are there are always plenty of bars and cafes, loud or quiet to start and finish the evening. The world-famous Verbier night-life of Casbah, the new and hugely popular Coco Club, T-Bar, where we have discount cards available and Pub Mont Fort are just waiting to be discovered...
