QUEENSTOWN
The adventure sports’capital of the world. You can bungee
jump, heli ski, luge, jet boat, wake board, canoe, kayak, rock climb,
mountain climb and, if you’ve any energy left….. go
tramping. The town is also perfect for chilling with heaps of bars,
clubs and restaurants. Coronet Peak and the Remarkables, both near
Queenstown are two of New Zealand’s premier ski resorts. The
character of each is very different, but they are all framed by
stunning mountain backdrops. The air is crisp and the snow awesome… let’s go...
CORONET PEAK AND THE REMARKABLES.
Winter in Queenstown kicks off with the opening of Coronet
Peak, the crown jewel of New Zealand ski fields. Coronet offers
all kinds of terrain, to suit all levels of skiers and boarders.
It is a great mountain for running instructor training courses.
There is night skiing too under sports’ stadium type lights
- surreal.
The Remarkables mountain range is Queenstown's other ski field.
Powder bowls and off-piste extremes provide challenges for more
advanced skiers. In September, the field hosts the Remarkables Spring
Festival - a riot of snow sports and crazy events.
