Q: Does it matter which snowboard system exams I do?

All the snowboard systems are equally as well respected so if you pass the CASI or BASI you’ll have a qualification that offers worldwide employment opportunities. Spend your holidays at university (if you go back!) getting paid to snowboard.

Q: Which resort is the best one for the snowboard instructor gap programme?

Like the snowboard instructor qualifications, there isn’t a bad one. All the resorts are hand selected for their amazing terrain, best-in-the-business snowboard coaches and enough après-selfies to make your fresher mates jealous (for way more than one week!).

Q: Who delivers the coaching for each course in resort?

Getting the best snowboard school partners and top-level instructors to train you is something we’ve worked hard to achieve. Here are links to find out more information: Sunshine Village Ski School in Canada, MINT Snowboarding in France, selected top level coaches in Argentina and ES in Switzerland.

Q: What’s not included in the snowboard instructor course?

We’re like you – hidden extras or paying for things ‘on top of the price’ just isn’t cool. That’s why the Peak Leaders package is priced to include everything we’d want from a snowboard instructor training gap programme (see our Compare Courses) like cat-riding in the Canadian backcountry! Other trips in or around the resort we can’t plan exact numbers for, so they are ‘optional’. But wherever this is the case we make it as price-friendly as possible for those who want to sign up.

Not everyone does the school, university, first job, career steps – some move sideways for a while. Like doing a snowboard instructor course gap year in Argentina, Canada, France or Switzerland.

We’ve been running snowboard instructor course gap year programmes for nearly 15 years. Whether you qualify with CASI or BASI becoming a snowboard instructor is one of those once in a lifetime experiences.

Resorts and top-level coaches make all the difference. That’s why we hunt out the best coaches in the industry and go to world-class resorts like Banff, Morzine, Bariloche and Saas Fee.

Our partner, Burton UK, offer you special deals – and if you choose Europe’s snowboard Mecca Morzine, there is also the chance to ride with and learn from one of their pro team.

Gap days on the hill are a mix of getting to grips with ‘proper’ technique, free riding and getting into the park. You might be doing technique or teaching sessions, carving, jibbing, jumps, rails, steeps, powder… whatever is best for the snow conditions and your individual progression.

Plus all gap instructor training programmes have a course leader in resort and on hand 24/7, so help is always there if you need something.
