Whistler actually incorporates two mountains; Whistler and Blackcomb, which are opposite each other and on the same lift pass. Whistler Village is at the bottom of both mountains in the Valley floor and it is easy to ski & ride between the two.
In Whistler you can enjoy all aspects of skiing and riding; whether it be wide corduroy runs, steeps, powder, moguls, glades or using one of the 5 different parks on the 2 mountains. The area is vast and you will definitely not be able to ski or ride it all in 4 weeks. Don't miss the fresh tracks breakfast pass which gives you access to first lifts and the best powder after fueling up on a buffet breakfast in the Roundhouse mountain restaurant.
Due to open in 2008 is the new 'Peak to Peak' gondola, connecting the top of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains without having to go back down to the Village.
In February 2008, Whistler hosted the FIS World Cup Alpine Ski Races. Whistler specialises in world class events and is hosting the 2010 Olympics and Para – Olympics. Most of the Olympic events will be held in Whistler Creekside (part of the resort further down the Valley – around a 5 min drive from the center of Whistler Village.) Whistler and Blackcomb mountains will operate normally and have full public access throughout The Olympics.
